"I'm part psychologist and part veterinarian ... I guess you could say that what's said in the feed store, stays in the feed store." - Greg Molinari, VOLUSIA52 participant
At his feed store in DeLand, Mr. Molinari posed for a photograph being made by Eric Dusenbery, executive director and photographer of the nonprofit organization Cinderic Documentaries Inc. Mr. Molinari is an example of the contentment and satisfaction of an individual devoted to his lifestyle.
CDI is on a mission to find people like Mr. Molinari, who exemplify the positive, life-affirming characteristics of Volusia County, through the documentary project VOLUSIA52.
VOLUSIA52 will be a collection of stories told with photography and first person narratives. It will explore Volusia County once a week for 52 consecutive weeks. The idea is to profile Volusians who are extraordinary - although they might not know it - to showcase the rich diversity and character of the county.
"The project focuses on the idea that everyone has a story," Mr. Dusenbery said. "This project is an attempt to further the sense of community that is all around us. You never know what astounding things your neighbor may have seen and done. I've been quite surprised by the stories I've heard already."
The culmination of the project will be a book and public presentations. A dedicated website will provide updates during the project.
