ST. LUCIE COUNTY -
Soroptimist International of St. Lucie recently held a spring fancy fashion show and luncheon at the Pelican Yacht Club in Fort Pierce.
Fashions were provided by Alisari of Fort Pierce. Maria Creel, owner, was the narrator and friends and family of the St. Lucie Soroptimist Club modeled the fashions.
After the fashion show, there was entertainment by the Avenue D Girls' Choir led by Mary Hendricks. The choir has more than 40 young girls. In addition to singing, the girls are taught to believe in themselves, keep their grades up and be positive about their futures.
Some of the young ladies spoke about what it has meant to be a member of the choir and the constructive experience it has been for them.
Soroptimist International is a worldwide organization for women working through service projects to improve the lives of women and girls in local communities and throughout the world.
