Gov. Rick Scott reappoints Nancy Grzesik to Brevard coalition

Gov. Rick Scott has announced the reappointment of Nancy T. Grzesik to the Early Learning Coalition of Brevard County.

Ms. Grzesik, 63, of Melbourne, is the associate director of finance and operations at the Brevard Zoo.

She is re-appointed for a term ending in 2015.

Edge Information Management promotes from within

Edge Information Management, a provider of employment and drug screening services, has announced that it has promoted Norm Gagnon to vice president of compliance & operations, previously the director of compliance, and Marc Giguere from acting director of IT to director of IT.

Mr. Gagnon joined Edge Information Management in 2002 and has been serving as the director of compliance until recently when he was promoted to the vice president of compliance & operations.

He will continue transitioning day-to-day duties to Ryan Fadden, compliance administrator, which includes communicating pertinent regulatory changes to Edge's staff and clients.

Marc Giguere, who has been working with Edge's IT department since 2003, was also recently promoted to the director of IT.

Melbourne Regional Chamber awards SERVPRO of South Brevard Better Business of the Month

The Melbourne Regional Chamber and its Better Business Council recognized SERVPRO of South Brevard as the February recipient of its Better Business of the Month Award.

The firm was awarded this recognition recently at the Chamber's monthly "Business Breakfast of Champions" event at the Suntree Country Club.

The award, sponsored monthly by Chamber Trustee Member Courtyard by Marriott/Residence Inn Marriott, was presented to Claudia Proffitt, of SERVPRO of South Brevard, by Marriott general manager Jim Ridenour.

NASA contractor excels in safety

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration recently presented NASA contractor InoMedic Health Applications with the Voluntary Protection Program STAR award.

The VPP STAR, OSHA's highest award, is presented only to businesses that pass a rigorous inspection for comprehensive safety and health management systems.

Accepting the award was Mike Runion, InoMedic's quality assurance and safety manager at the Kennedy Space Center.

Presenting the award was Keven Yarbrough, a top OSHA administrator in the Florida region. Only 75 businesses in Florida have achieved the distinctive STAR status.

Joining in the ceremony were senior members of NASA Kennedy Space Center and representatives of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers.

InoMedic Health Applications is a service-disabled veteran-owned small business with specialized employees who provide medical, occupational health and environmental support to the NASA, the Department of Defense, and commercial companies in the aerospace industries.
