MARTIN COUNTY - For about 17 years, Barton's Jewelers has been Stuart's home for creating quality heirloom jewelry.

Known for its fine estate pieces, a varied selection of nautical, sea life and treasure coin jewelry and designer diamond creations, the store has always balanced its cachet with its ability to help clients find long-lasting, affordable items.

At one location, customers can get fine jewelry, custom designs, repairs, stunning wedding and engagement rings, pieces by designers with exclusive relationships with Barton's and excellent service, strong ethics and adherence to best business practices from a master member of the Independent Jeweler Organization.

"We do everything from basics, to diamonds to customs designs. We do it all on premises and we strive to give excellent customer service," said owner Lynn Barton.

"We have a $25 bracelet to thousands of dollars in diamond jewelry."

Popular now is the store's affordable silver styles, including its line of sterling silver, a beautiful and more affordable alternative to gold, experts said.

The entire inventory is hand selected, so it offers a range of unique pieces, Ms. Barton said.

Among them is the striking Larimar line, made from blue pectolite, a beautiful gemstone, and featuring earrings, necklaces and bracelets.

"It's only found in the Dominican Republic," Ms. Barton said. "You will hardly see it in someone's jewelry store. We have the exclusive in it in this area."

In its bridal lines, the store features designers such as Natalie K, who specializes in contemporary styles in white gold.

Its large selection includes quality diamond engagement rings, wedding bands made of precious metals and others made from alternatives for couples who want nontraditional bands.

"We want to be the place where the Treasure Coast gets engaged and make memories that last a lifetime," Ms. Barton said.

Barton's Jewelers is located at 5041 S.E. Federal Highway. For more information, call (772) 221-0122.
