PORT ST. LUCIE - For some, the thought of visiting a dentist can be a worrisome, unpleasant experience.

But that's not the case at All Smiles Dentistry, where dentist Sean Rankin and his staff work hard to make people feel at ease.

In becoming a dentist 10 years ago, Dr. Rankin said, he recognized his talents as art and dealing with people.

Those fit well with his choice of profession, he said.

"I wanted to help people," said Dr. Rankin, who practices general and cosmetic dentistry.

His office provides help to people in terms of whatever dental services they need, ranging from getting a cavity filled to teeth-in-a-day, a procedure that allows a dentist to completely restore a person's mouth the same day.

He also does crowns, root canals, bridges and implanted dentures. A denture is attached to an implant anchored into the jaw, making it easier to chew than with a denture with no implant.

Dr. Rankin keeps up with the latest developments in dentistry by attending continuing education courses.

His office also uses the latest technology, including digital X-rays, the latest sterilization techniques and digital radiography. It was one of the first to go paperless and use digital patient charts.

For patients concerned about the cost of getting dental services, All Smiles Dentistry offers payment plans without interest for up to a year.

All Smiles also accepts most dental insurance plans.

The office is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and a lot of times, same-day appointments are available. Dr. Rankin also seeks to accommodate people with emergencies.

Some Saturday appointments are also available.

His office lives up to its name by offering teeth whitening specials.

Dr. Rankin is married to Lisa Rankin, a physician with an office adjacent to his practice. They have three children.

He volunteers with Give Kids a Smile and Project Christmas Smile, which helps adults.

All Smiles Dentistry is located at 499 N.W. Prima Vista Blvd., Suite 107, Port St. Lucie. The telephone number is (772) 336-1500.
