VERO BEACH - A man shot and killed his wife on Feb. 27, then shot himself near her home in The Palms at Vero Beach, sheriff's officials said.
The man, who was identified as 37-year-old Ronniel Lonel of Newington. Ga., was taken to Indian River Medical Center for treatment, but died at the hospital.
His wife, Renada Lucas, 28, of Vero Beach, was pronounced dead on the scene.
According to Deputy Jeff Luther, public information officer, the couple were married, but were in the process of divorcing. Mrs. Lucas moved to Vero Beach to remove herself from her husband.
Mr. Lonel assisted Mrs. Lucas in her move to the area and knew her address.
On Mrs. Lucas' arrival to her home on Feb. 27, Mr. Lonel approached her and the two began to argue.
When Mrs. Lucas got back in her vehicle, her husband fired two shots through the window, killing her.
He then shot himself and later died from his wounds.
