This article is for folks who cannot go on long trips or prefer to stay closer to home.

Get together with some of your friends or make some new ones while on a day trip by bus to some of Florida's attractions.

The following are some trips that Gadabout Travel has put together for your pleasure.

. Historic Bok Sanctuary in Lake Wales offers visitors one of Florida's most abundant opportunities for aesthetic, cultural and personal enrichment. The lush landscapes of the Olmstead gardens and the majesty and music of the Singing Tower, with its 60-bell carillon, create an experience that inspires all who visit.

. The Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens is one of Palm Beach County's most treasured cultural attractions. Located in a tranquil natural setting, Morikami invites visitors to explore its many facets and discover Florida's heritage and connection with Japan.

. Cypress Gardens in Winter Haven offers a relaxing day at one of Florida's scenic treasures. Enjoy the variety of shows, including the world famous water ski show.

All of the abovementioned trips are great for a garden club or those interested in nature.

Looking for a fun way to explore America's space program? The Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex has a tour for all. There are many exhibits and an IMAX movie that should not be missed. This trip will bring back many memories.

Now, for the unique! Cirque Du Soleil's La Nouba at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando is somewhere between your memory and your imagination. It is an experience you will not only see, but one you feel, hear and live. Some comments from others are "unforgettable," "breathtaking" and "captivating." It is the perfect blend of the daring with the endearing.

An evening at Orlando's Arabian nights dinner show is a storybook tale of romance and intrigue. More than 60 of the world's most graceful horses combine with the majesty of an off-Broadway production to create a wonderful show.

Both of the abovementioned day trips will bring a sense of excitement to what might have been a ho-hum day.

For those interested in crafts or just looking for something different, the Mount Dora craft fair in October is perfect.

Historical downtown Mount Dora offers many unique antique shops. There are also over 350 crafters at the fair. If the wife wants to shop, there is a perfect spot for the gentleman to sit and relax along the shore of Lake Dora.

Another fantastic day for all is the "Wine, Food and Bakery" trip, which includes a tour of the Lakeridge Winery in Clermont, where visitors will learn about the wine making process and be able to taste different wines and make purchases.

After the winery, travelers will enjoy a delicious buffet lunch at the Mission Inn Resort. Then, to top off the day, there will be a stop at the Yalaha Country Bakery, where everyone will be treated to the fresh aroma of baking, as well as coffee and a Danish. Then, a nap on the way home sounds good to most.

One of the most relaxing days you can spend is on the St. Johns River Cruise. This trip features a four-hour cruise as well as some of the best food around. There is also onboard entertainment, so you can sit outside and watch the world go by, listen to music, dance and enjoy a wonderful meal all in the same day.

If I have piqued your interest, please call and see when these trips are available for your enjoyment.
