VFW Post 3282

John E. Mealy Memorial VFW Post 3282 will host a Memorial Day commemoration at 10 a.m. Monday, May 26, at Veterans Park in Port Orange City Center.

A flag raising will be at noon at the post, 5810 S. Williamson Blvd., Port Orange.

At 12:30 p.m., the post will honor the post's fallen veterans of the past year.

From 1 to 5 p.m., there will be live entertainment and food.

Deltona Memorial Gardens

Memorial Day Services and Activities will be at 10 a.m. Monday, May 26, at

Deltona Memorial Gardens, 1295 Saxon Blvd., Orange City.

This 34th annual Memorial Day Service is sponsored by the Veterans Community Education Partnership Inc. and Deltona Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

The Memorial Day Service will include the presentation of colors and the placement of memorial wreaths at the Veterans Memorial by area veterans groups and affiliated community organizations.

Girl Scout Troop 1407 and Boy Scout Troop 312 of Deltona will place American Flags on the graves of veterans throughout the cemetery from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, May 24.

American Legion Post 120

American Legion Post 120 will host a Memorial Day service honoring fallen service men and women at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 26, at 461 Walker St., Holly Hill. The post honor guard will perform the salute and taps.

City of Lake Helen

The City of Lake Helen will conduct a Memorial Day service at 9 a.m. Monday, May 26, on the City Hall grounds at 327 S. Lakeview Drive, Lake Helen.

The community is asked to join together to honor and remember the men and women who died defending the country.

City of Ormond Beach

The city of Ormond Beach will host a Memorial Day service at 9 a.m. Monday, May 26, in Rockefeller Gardens, 25 Riverside Drive in Ormond Beach.

Charles Long will conduct the Daytona Beach Concert Band. Col. Victoria Leignadier, U.S. Army retired, will serve as the moderator. Memorial attendees will be welcomed by Mayor Ed Kelley. The invocation will be rendered by Rabbi Howard Schwartz, US Army Major retired and the benediction by Chaplain Willie Branch.

Numerous military color guards and color corps will enter and assume their positions. Additional groups, including Boy and Girl Scouts will join them.

Guest speaker for the 2013 event is Major Patricia "Trish" Hayden, USAFR-NC. Major Hayden is a Critical Care Air Transport Team Nurse with the 920th Aero-medical Staging Squadron at Patrick Air Force Base.

Guests will be given a carnation on arrival at Rockefeller Gardens. A final tribute is rendered as they move forward in procession, to place their flower beside the Memorial Marker.

Town of Ponce Inlet

The town of Ponce Inlet will host a Memorial Day Ceremony at 11 a.m. Monday, May 26, at Ponce Inlet Veteran's Memorial, 4931 S. Peninsula Drive.

Guest speaker will be Morgan B. Gilreath Jr., Volusia County Property Appraiser.

There will be a fly over by the Spruce Creek Gaggle.
