The 17th Annual Lakeside Jazz Festival is Friday, April 25, and Saturday, April 26.
More than 65 middle school, high school, college and university jazz bands will perform from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. both days on
two stages at Port Orange City Center.
This is a free event. The non-competitive performances are judged by a panel of university jazz educators and a 30-minute workshop/critique is given after each band's performance.
This year, the U.S. Marine Jazz Band from Parris Island, S.C., will be performing on the main stage at 8 p.m. Saturday.
Preferred seating tables, which are directly in front of the Kenneth Parker Performing Arts Amphitheater stage are available for purchase
for $15 per seat or $125 per table of 10, which includes an "all you can eat" buffet dinner. For more information, email firstname.lastname@example.org. Preferred seating will begin at 5:30 p.m.
All proceeds of the concessions, sponsorships and preferred seating go directly to music students of Atlantic High School, Spruce Creek High School and Warner Christian Academy for music and leadership summer camp scholarships.
