STUART - John Restanio wasn't always in the salon and spa industry. There was a time that instead of managing a room full of hairdressers and nail technicians he got his hands dirty working construction.

But when he married his wife, Sue Santavicca, a hairdresser, he wanted to support her. So, 20 years ago they took the plunge and became employers instead of employees.

Now the duo owns a couple of salons, including Shear Perfection, which has been open for nine years. They opened a second location, Totally Polished, five months ago.

"It was all about making an investment in my wife," Mr. Restanio said.

The salon offers haircuts and colors, facials, manicures, pedicures, the works.

"We're a full service salon," Mr. Restanio said.

A full service salon that strives to ensure their clients receive the best treatment possible, which often includes a glass of wine, coffee or tea as they sit in what Mr. Restanio said are the best pedicure massage chairs in the industry.

Totally Polished offers acrylic and gel manicures, Schwarzkopf hair color and even 10 minute hair colors for clients with limited time available and ammonia free hair colors for those with chemical sensitivities.

The salon is impeccably clean and offers totally sanitary manicures and pedicures. Mr. Restanio and his staff make sure everyone who comes through the doors leaves happy.

"We offer all our customers guaranteed satisfaction," Mr. Restanio said.

He also prides himself on his staff's teamwork and communication. Their friendly conversation and expertise offer clients more than service they'll be happy with, but an experience, too.

"Everyone seems to have a good time when they're here," Mr. Restanio said.

They offer a free manicure with pedicure and a free cut and style with color service for all new clients.

The salon is located at 2133 S.E. Federal Highway in Stuart and can be reached at (772) 223-5533.
