TREASURE COAST -- Indian River State College now offers 23 Bachelor's Degree programs that can be completed locally at IRSC campuses and online. Information about program options, application procedures, financial aid and more will be provided at a Bachelor's Degree Information Session on Wednesday, March 12 at 6 p.m. in Room W-227 in the Student Services Building on the corner of 35th Street and Virginia Avenue at the Main Campus in Fort Pierce.
"IRSC students benefit from a quality education at affordable cost, with small classes and personal attention from faculty," said Dr. Ian Neuhard, IRSC Director of Baccalaureate Programs. "We invite you to attend the information session to learn how you can continue your education to the Bachelor's level at IRSC."
Recognizing the time management challenges of students who are working, IRSC has expanded its online Bachelor's Degree offerings. Students can now complete three Baccalaureate programs entirely online, including degrees in organizational management, business administration and nursing.
IRSC Bachelor's Degree programs all focus on fields with demonstrated workforce demand.
Area residents prepare for teaching positions armed with education degrees in elementary education, exceptional student education, and secondary and middle grades math and science.
The Human Services degree programs are among the most popular, with specializations in youth and family studies, addictions studies and human services generalist. Two concentrations are available in public administration, with emphasis on emergency planning and management and public policy and leadership, preparing students for employment in various levels of government. The degree provides a firm foundation for law school and other graduate level degrees. IRSC also offers a Bachelor's Degree in criminal justice.
The Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology/cyber Security prepares students for a well-paying career in information technology and cyber security, one of the nation's most rapidly growing fields impacting business, government and the military.
Students can also focus on digital media with degree concentrations in graphic design and visual communications and animation, gaming and modeling.
In the health care field, IRSC offers the Bachelor's Degree in health care management and nursing. Students in the biology program benefit from opportunities for paid internships at Torrey Pines Institute for Molecular Studies and laboratory experiences working with scientists at other research institutes.
In the business arena, the Organizational Management Degree program attracts many working students who apply what they have learned on-the-job for career advancement. The business administration degree offers students the competitive advantage in the business world with knowledge and skills in management, finance, strategic planning, human resources and entrepreneurship. The Accounting degree is among the newest additions to the IRSC menu of four-year programs, preparing students for a career that is consistently at the top of the list for job openings.
