TREASURE COAST-- Dual Enrollment provides an opportunity for high school students to begin working on a college degree for free while finishing high school, saving time and thousands of dollars in college tuition. Indian River State College invites Treasure Coast high school students and their parents to an upcoming Information Session of their choice.

Information Sessions will be held at 6 p.m. at the following locations and dates:

Martin County: Tuesday, Feb. 25 and Thursday, March 6, IRSC Chastain Campus, Wolf High-Technology Center, 2400 S.E. Salerno Road, Stuart.

Indian River County: Tuesday, March 11, Sebastian River High School Auditorium, Sebastian, and Wednesday, March 12, IRSC Mueller Campus, Richardson Center, 6155 College Lane, Vero Beach.

St. Lucie County: Tuesday, March 11, IRSC Main Campus, Kight Center, V Bldg., 35th Street side of campus, Fort Pierce, and Thursday, March 13, Pruitt Campus, E Bldg., Room E-114, 500 N.W. California Blvd. Port St. Lucie.

Dual Enrollment students complete requirements toward high school graduation and earn college credits at the same time without paying college tuition. For example, classes such as College Algebra and English Composition that cost approximately $600 in tuition and books at a state university can be completed at no tuition charge to students and their parents. Dual Enrollment courses are offered at times that are convenient for a student's schedule and are weighted the same as Honors and Advanced Placement courses when high school grade point averages are calculated. Credits earned through Dual Enrollment readily transfer to all Florida public universities and most universities nationally.
