Gepetto Rolle, 16, poses, while classmates Elines Ortize, 17, and Katie Wales, 15, all of Palm Bay, paint with light at Palm Bay High School, Friday, Feb. 14. The photographic technique of 'Painting with Light' uses longer exposure times than normal photographs. The average photograph has an exposure time that is a fraction of a second. When painting with light, the exposures are seconds, minutes and even hours for certain photographs. The subject in this technique is usually in very dark surroundings. The photographer then enhances the image with handheld lights. The students learned this technique from their teacher Barbara Fine.
