Commissioners seek applicants
Fort Pierce City Commissioners are seeking applications from civic-minded residents to serve on various advisory boards and committees, including the current appointment opportunities for the Planning Board and Board of Adjustment.
The City of Fort Pierce Planning Board meets the second Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. in the Fort Pierce City Hall Commission Chambers.
The Board of Adjustment meets the fourth Thursday of the month at 6 p.m. in the Fort Pierce City Hall Commission Chambers.
Members must be a St. Lucie County resident to be eligible.

Library hosts free Medicare series
The Fort Pierce Branch Library will host three informational Serving Healthcare Needs of Elders Medicare presentations, starting Thursday, Feb. 20.
Offered by the Florida Department of Elder Affairs and the St. Lucie County Council on Aging, these free workshops provide unbiased information and counseling to Medicare beneficiaries and/or their representatives. Sessions include:
Thursday, Feb. 20 at 1 p.m. - Medicare 101
Thursday, Feb. 27 at 1 p.m. - Medicare Advantage Plans
Thursday March 6 at 1 p.m. - Medicare Preventative Services
Residents are encouraged to attend and bring their Medicare questions, as each workshop will provide a question-and-answer session.
