Repair and restoration work on more than one dozen bridge structures across Volusia County began Monday, Feb. 10.
In all, a total of 14 bridges are scheduled to be cleaned, sealed and striped, with construction efforts scheduled to last until summer.
Local residents and motorists should be aware assorted lane closures will be scheduled over the course of the project, possibly affecting drive time and posted speed limits within project corridors. Construction work will affect travelers on U.S. 1, State Road 44, State Road 40 and State Road A1A.
Construction efforts on select structures will also continue during the overnight hours due to various lane closure restrictions. These structures are SR 40 over Halifax River, SR A1A over Halifax River and SR 44 over Indian River.
In addition, new traffic lane striping is scheduled to be applied to all affected bridges in mid-summer. Please note that while all construction work is scheduled to proceed as advised, inclement weather and other similar events may cause delays.
