County plans spring break camps

Children can enjoy group activities and field trips with Volusia County's spring break camps, which are being offered in Daytona Beach, DeBary and Oak Hill.

Advance registration and payment are required.

Strickland Park Recreation Center

The program at the Strickland Park Recreation Center, Daytona Beach, runs from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. March 20-28. Children ages 5 to 11 can participate in playground activities and escorted trips to Sun Splash Park, DeLeon Springs State Park, Chuck E. Cheese and a roller skating rink. The fees, which include field trips, are $45 for March 20-21, and $65 for March 24-28.

Parents can register their children for the Daytona Beach program at these times and locations:

3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, at Pine Trail Elementary School

3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, at Pathways Elementary

School

10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at the Strickland Park Recreation Center

3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 24, at Champion Elementary

School

3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, at Holly Hill Elementary School

3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, at Palm Terrace Elementary

School

3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, at Westside Elementary School

Gemini Springs Park

DeBary's camp will be based in the springhouse at Gemini Springs Park, DeBary, where children ages 5 to 12 can take part in outdoor activities and field trips from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. March 24-28. The $65 fee includes trips.

Parents can register their children by contacting Joe Zarbo at jzarbo@volusia.org or (386) 736-5953, Ext. 16702, or by attending one of these registration events at pavilion one, near the playground in Gemini Springs Park:

4 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25

4 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27

10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, March 1

Mary Dewees Park

Children ages 5 to 15 are invited to the spring break program at Mary DeWees Park, Oak Hill. Playground activities and field trips are planned from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. March 24-28. The $65 fee includes trips.
