Savanna Ware, 10, a fourth-grade student at St. Edward's School, found the darker the paint on the house the hotter it became indoors.

The Education Foundation of Indian River County held the 22nd annual Indian River Regional Science & Engineering Fair at Gifford Middle School last weekend. More than 500 students, with 396 projects, from Indian River County public and independent schools took part. 'Getting 200 volunteer judges and volunteers to support student education is powerful. We're trying to give children a love for science,' said Cynthia Falardeau, Education Foundation of Indian River County executive director.
