COCOA BEACH -- Florida's very own Von Trapp family will return to the Space Coast for a group of free concerts this weekend.

On Sunday, Feb. 9, the Ditchfield Family Singers will host "The Best of Broadway," two free concerts at Riverside Presbyterian Church in Cocoa Beach. The first concert begins at 3:30 p.m., with the second beginning at 7 p.m.

A free ticket for either show is required.

This will be the sixth year that the Ditchfields will perform at the Cocoa Beach church.

"The Best of Broadway" will feature songs from two of Broadway's most prolific musicals, "Fiddler on the Roof" and "Oliver," as well as selections from "The Music Man," "Les Miserables," "West Side Story," "The Sound of Music" and more.

For nearly 20 years, the Ditchfield Family Singers have been traveling from its home-base in Sarasota, bringing its gorgeous harmonies with the group wherever it performs.

The ensemble is comprised of father, Stephen, and mother, Bernice, their three sons, Nathanael, Michael and David, daughter Stephanie and their two daughters-in-law, Regina and Taylor.

Nathanael and Regina's four sons, Andrew, 18, Christopher, 15, Joshua, 11, and Timmy, 6, round out the Ditchfield Family Singers.

"A couple from Riverside was familiar with the Ditchfields from its work with 'Barber Shop' singing," said Mason Gibson, deacon at Riverside Presbyterian Church. "The couple had been to one of their performances and highly recommended them."

After the family's first performance, Deacon Gibson said the Ditchfield Family Singers became the most requested concert.

"It is the only concert that we do two performances because of the demand," he added.

With each family member holding a specific role within the group, the Ditchfield Family Singers are truly an ensemble to see.

"Our 'Best of Broadway' theme is one of our most popular shows," said Bernice Ditchfield, matriarch of the group. "It highlights hits from numerous Broadway favorites, while allowing every member of the ensemble to shine in their own unique way. It's a crowd-pleaser everywhere we go."

Mrs. Ditchfield also serves as the ensemble's booking agent, road manager, sound tech and sings alto in the family ensemble.

"An afternoon or evening with the Ditchfield Family Singers is more than just a show," Mrs. Ditchfield said. "It's an uplifting and wonderful experience to see a family with such genuine harmony, both on and off the stage."

The Ditchfield Family Singers will host "The Best of Broadway," two free concerts at Riverside Presbyterian Church in Cocoa Beach on Sunday, Feb. 9 at 3:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.

A free ticket for the show is required and can be reserved online at www.RiversidePres.org or by calling (321) 525-7825.

Riverside Presbyterian Church is located at 3400 N. Atlantic Ave., Cocoa Beach.
