The Community Foundation of Volusia & Flagler has selected Christopher P. Bowler for the inaugural Young Leaders Award.
The award was presented at the foundation's annual Herbert M. Davidson Memorial Award for Outstanding Community Service banquet honoring Dave Freer on Jan. 30.
The purpose of the award is to recognize the outstanding engagement of new "up and coming" volunteer leaders in the community who make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
Mr. Bowler serves as vice president of sales and part Owner of Daytona Beverages in Daytona Beach. Previously he was a Strategic Cost Consultant with Price Waterhouse in New York City. He earned a bachelor's degree in finance from Boston College, and a master's in accounting from Babson College in Wellesley, Mass.
Since moving to Daytona Beach, he has played an active role in the community. He was chairman of the Young Professionals Group, executive board member for the Daytona Regional Chamber of Commerce, a board member of the Boys & Girls Club of Volusia-Flagler, Halifax Health Foundation, Junior Achievement and in the past played an active role in the Mayor's Task Force on Special Events.
In 2005, he graduated from Daytona's Leadership Development program. He is the incoming chairman of the Daytona Regional Chamber of Commerce and sits on the board of directors of the Halifax Area Advertising Authority.
