PORT ST. LUCIE -- Twenty-five years ago, Patrick Madden began teaching drama at the newest high school in the area. Since that time there have been many faces come and go.
Over the years, many different principles, coaches, band directors and thousands of students have called Port St. Lucie High School home, however, Mr. Madden remains one of the original faces at the home of Jaguars.
To celebrate the 25th year of productions at PSLHS, Mr. Madden will direct Mame!
The musical is set in New York and spans the Great Depression and World War II. It focuses on eccentric bohemian Mame Dennis and her fabulous life with her wealthy friends. Her life is interrupted when the young son of her late brother arrives to live with her. They cope with the Depression in a series of adventures.
The play will include a total of 50 students, including those who help with props, costumes and music. There will also be 10 PSLHS alumni involved in the play.
The play runs Thursday, Jan. 30 at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, Jan. 31 at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, Feb. 1 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.; Sunday, Feb. 2 at 2 p.m.; Thursday, Feb. 6 at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, Feb. 7 at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday Feb. 8 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday, Feb. 9 at 2 p.m.
