BREVARD -- When the MOPARs of Brevard Car Club originated roughly 16 years ago, the group wanted to host an event where fellow car enthusiasts could share their passion with one another.

On Saturday, Jan. 18, the MOPARs of Brevard Car Club, a nonprofit organization, will host its 15th annual Super Swap from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Wickham Park Pavilion, rain or shine.

The event is free for spectators, with pre-registration for cars costing $10, $25 for vendors and $15 for car corral spaces.

Proceeds will go to the Second Harvest Food Bank.

"My definition of the term 'MOPAR' is massively over-powered and respected," said John Capua, vice president. "However, MOPAR is the parts, service and customer care organization within Chrylser Group, LLC."

Mr. Capua said that the MOPAR Super Swap is full of all types of cars, ranging from 1930s models to the cars we drive today.

"Now, you would think that the show is all MOPARs, but we usually have a mixture of foreign, General Motors, MOPAR and Ford cars," he added.

While there is no judging of the cars at the Super Swap, there are awards for club participation -- $100 for first place and $75 for second place.

Pete Stasio, president of the MOPARs of Brevard, said that the club will be giving away goodie bags to the first 100 pre-registered cars and trucks.

"We also have a 50/50 raffle, with prizes that include a tool chest, tool kits, ladies and men's gift baskets and much more," Mr. Stasio said.

"Our main theme this year is having Herb McCandless and his Sox & Martin Car," Mr. Capua added. "Herb will be doing an autograph session and demo of his car."

In addition to the many cars that will be on display at the MOPAR Super Swap, Saturday's event will also have a host of other goodies, including food, arts and crafts vendors and car parts for sale.

"This event is targeted at car enthusiasts because we have all sorts of vehicles, vendor displays and activities," Mr. Capua said. "This is a fun event and, if you like cars and trucks, this is the place to be, since it is the largest event in the area this time of the year."

The MOPARs of Brevard Car Club will host its 15th annual Super Swap on Saturday, Jan. 18 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Wickham Park Pavilion.
