STUART -- Celebrate the season listening to holiday music as the Stuart Community Concert Band comes together to perform its presentation of Home for the Holidays.
Under the direction of Christopher Kalwa, the band will capture the spirit of the season with a concert mixed with Christmas carols, Hanukkah classics and a few surprises. Listen as the band performs a rendition of a letter to Santa and sing along to the ever popular Sleigh Ride.
Enjoy this free music performance on Saturday, Dec. 14 at the Blake Library in the John F. Armstrong Wing, 2351 S.E. Monterey Road, Stuart.
Because of the overwhelming response to the band's holiday concerts, the band has scheduled two concerts at the Blake Library. The first performance will be held at 11 a.m. and the second performance at 2 p.m. Seating is limited, so free tickets are required. Tickets will be distributed Monday, Dec. 9 from 4 - 6 p.m. in the Blake Library lobby. A maximum of two tickets per person will be available. Any remaining tickets after that date and times will be available at the Blake Circulation Desk.
The Palm City Cookie Ladies will provide an assortment of 1,000 cookies to the Blake Library concert attendees. This group of ladies has been baking and serving refreshments and decorating the stage for the band's holiday performances at the Blake Library since 2004.
If you miss getting a ticket, to the Dec. 14 performances, the band will perform a third holiday concert at the Charles and Rae Kane Center on Sunday, Dec. 15. The concert will be held at the Kane Center, 900 S.E. Salerno Road in Stuart beginning at 2 p.m. Admission for Kane Center members is $5 for presales or $7 at the door and for non-members, $6 for advance tickets and $8 at the door.
