BREVARD -- The Viera Company is proud to host the "Light Up Viera" holiday celebration on Saturday, Nov. 30, complete with a magical holiday parade and a festive Holiday Pops concert by the Brevard Symphony Orchestra.

"We've always hosted community holiday celebrations to welcome the season, but this year, we welcome what will become Viera's annual signature event and a hometown tradition for residents of our community and Brevard," said Karla-Mae Goodman, general manager for the Viera Discovery Center.

The parade, full of sparkling lights, professional decorated floats, marching bands and -- of course -- Santa Claus begins at 5:30 p.m. by the VA Clinic on Breslay Drive and will finish at the Space Coast Stadium.

"Residents, visitors and guests can expect to marvel at the millions of lights on parade," Ms. Goodman said. "With more than 15 professional floats and several lighted independent entries, including marching bands, commercial vehicles and walkers from local organizations, it will be a sight to behold."

Ms. Goodman said the professionally decorated floats in the parade are all themed, including a Toy Soldier, Candy Land and Santa's Sleigh float.

"They all range from 30 to 35 feet in length and are provided by the same company that provides floats for the Gator Bowl Parade in Jacksonville and Gasparilla Parade in Tampa," Ms. Goodman added.

The Viera Company will be providing complimentary magical glasses that will enhance attendees' parade and concert experience, as well as their entire holiday season. Glasses are available for pick-up throughout the month of November at the Viera Discovery Center.

"We've ordered thousands of holoplex glasses for the parade that, once worn, will turn the millions of lights into either a Santa or reindeer," Ms. Goodman said. "They will enhance the parade, as the many lights turn into these holiday characters, dancing, as spectators enjoy holiday tunes from each float."

With the holiday parade concluding at Space Coast Stadium, the Brevard Symphony Orchestra will provide a free Holiday Pops concert, beginning at 7:45 p.m.

Song selections include such holiday favorites, as "Winter Wonderland," "Here Comes Santa Claus," selections from "The Nutcracker" and "Jingle Bells Forever."

"The concert will end with a 100-person choir from Calvary Chapel, leading the audience in a medley of Christmas carols, all under the direction of Santa," Ms. Goodman added.

With the help of supporting partners Savings Safari and Calvary Chapel of Melbourne's Viera campus, which is providing more than 300 uniformed volunteers, as well as participating businesses, Ms. Patterson said that the Viera Company simply could not host Light Up Viera without such support.

"Light Up Viera will be the beginning of a great family tradition for our residents and visitors to enjoy for many years to come," Ms. Goodman added. "This is The Viera Company's gift to the community, and we invite all to come, enjoy and experience all that Viera has to offer as we Light Up Viera."

The Viera Company will host Light Up Viera on Saturday, Nov. 30, with a holiday parade and concert.

The holiday parade begins at 5:30 p.m. on Breslay Drive, with the parade route including Tavistock Boulevard, Viera Boulevard, Stadium Parkway and finishing at Judge Fran Jamieson.

The holiday concert, presented by the Brevard Symphony Orchestra, will begin at 7:45 p.m.

Holoplex glasses will be provided for free by The Viera Company throughout the month of November at the Viera Discovery Center, while supplies last.

The Viera Discovery Center is located at 7350 Shoppes Drive, Suite 103, Viera.
