ST. LUCIE COUNTY -- Home Instead Senior Care is teaming up with local nonprofit agencies and Butterfield's Pharmacy & Medical Supply stores to sponsor this year's program that collects, wraps and delivers gifts to area seniors in St. Lucie county who otherwise might be overlooked this holiday season.
Members of the community are asked to help by purchasing and donating a gift at Butterfield's Pharmacy and Medical Supply, 1707 St. Lucie West Blvd., in Port St. Lucie and Butterfield's Pharmacy and Medical Supply, 5009 Turnpike Feeder Road, in Fort Pierce. Gifts will be collected through Dec. 14.
Additionally, Seacoast National Bank locations in Port St. Lucie will each have a Be A Santa To A Senior gift collection box through Dec. 14 for anyone who wants to drop-off miscellaneous gift donations.
A list of gift items commonly requested by seniors in the program is also available at participating Seacoast National Bank locations and will include: non-skid socks, magnifying glasses, neck pillows, canes, reachers, body lotion, candy, cookies, pet food and lap blankets.
The need is especially great this year.
