MELBOURNE -- Come experience the tricks and treats that one of the Space Coast's most popular, family-friendly Halloween events has to offer.
"Boo at the Zoo," the Brevard Zoo's annual Halloween event, kicks off on Friday, Oct. 11. This weekend-long event will span the entire month of October, from Oct. 11 through 13, Oct. 18 through 20 and Oct. 25 through 27.
"Boo at the Zoo is in its tenth year and is a great family-friendly, month-long Halloween celebration," said Shelley Szafraniec, communication and marketing director for the Brevard Zoo. "Families and children can enjoy Halloween-themed activities, including trick-or-treating, in a fun environment."
Each year, Boo at the Zoo celebrates a new theme. The theme for this year's event is "The Mystical Journey."
"New attractions for this year's event include 'Zoola! Mystical Performances, a ball in the Mystical Mansion and a ride in the Mystical Boo Choo Train," Ms. Szafraniec said. "Guests can also explore Professor Wormwood's Mystical Garden and enjoy a scare along the Mystical Haunted Trail."
Ms. Szafraniec said the Mystical Haunted Trail is best for children ages 10 and older.
"In addition to the nightly costume contests, we will have games and crafts for kids in the Mystical Mansion," Ms. Szafraniec said. "For animal encounters, we do have animal handlers walking around the zoo, interacting with the guests."
Boo at the Zoo, which is presented by Bright House Networks, along with Walmart, Pepsi and many other local sponsors, is a fun event that raises proceeds for a variety of projects around Brevard Zoo.
The Brevard Zoo will host "Boo at the Zoo" Oct. 11 through 13, Oct. 18 through, 20 and Oct. 25 through 27.
Families and children are encouraged to dress in their Halloween costumes.
