Embraer Defense & Security acquires remaining 50 percent of Atech's shares

Embraer Defense & Security signed a contract to acquire the remaining 50 percent of Atech Neg-cios em Tecnologia S.A. shares, as part of its acquisition strategy. Since the Company had already acquired 50 percent of Atech, in April 2011, it now becomes the only shareholder of Atech.

The conclusion of the deal is subject to meeting certain conditions that are common to this type of transaction. The deal is an important step in consolidating Embraer Defense & Security as a Strategic Defense Company and a provider of genuinely Brazilian integrated solutions.

Atech is a developer of strategic command, control and intelligence solutions, and provides expert consulting services, as well as technical and logistical support.

PrimeLending welcomes new loan officer

Dallas-based residential mortgage originator PrimeLending, a PlainsCapital company, has announced the addition of Lisa Beth Sommerhoff, as a loan officer at the PrimeLending office, located at 7341 Office Park Place, No. 204, Melbourne.

FirstWave Financial employee heads women's business association

Laura Chiesman, certified financial planner at FirstWave Financial in Satellite Beach, has been elected president of the American Business Women's Association Oceanside Charter Chapter.

Previously, Ms. Chiesman served as vice president and secretary for the organization and was honored as its 2012-13 "Woman of the Year."

The graduate of the University of Central Florida holds a bachelor's degree in finance and earned her certification in financial planning from UCF's CFP Professional Education certificate program. She is also a member of the Financial Planning Association.

As president of the ABWA Oceanside Chapter, Ms. Chiesman will lead the organization of professional women, presiding over monthly membership meetings, as well as board meetings.

Membership for the Oceanside Chapter of the ABWA has increased 46 percent thus far in 2013. The group has also been recognized nationally for "Best Practices in Group Management" based on ABWA criteria, putting them in the top 14 percent of all leagues.
