New passenger rail operations manager for SunRail

The Florida Department of Transportation, District 5, has appointed Edward Connolly as the new Passenger Rail Operations Manager for SunRail.

SunRail is the commuter rail service in the Central Florida Rail Corridor that will begin passenger service between DeBary and Orlando in May 2014.

Mr. Connolly has more than 30 years of railroad experience in the United States and around the world. Mr. Connolly has expertise in start up, risk assessment and commissioning of railroads. He has directed and managed high performance teams on his past projects including assignments with San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency, RailTrack Rail Program (London), and TriRail (South Florida).

Mr. Connolly will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Central Florida Rail Corridor.
