COCOA VILLAGE -- As an artist for more than 20 years, Suzanne Frank said she always feels the urge to create.
"Art is a fascinating thing," she said. "It can heal."
Mrs. Frank is a sculptor, dealing primarily with masks and torsos, and, after years of seeing other art galleries within the area, she and Eulaine Eri, a local painter, decided it was time to branch out on their own.
Mrs. Frank and Ms. Eri's personal and unique work will be on display.
"Our art is very different and unique," Mrs. Frank said. "It's one-of-a-kind. We don't reproduce. We may have many torsos, but none are the same, just as we may have many different water paintings. None are the same."
The grand opening of the gallery, which was Sept. 20, featured a $5, 50/50 raffle, where 50 percent of the proceeds will go to the winner, and the other 50 percent will go toward the Creative Art Foundation, an active nonprofit that provides grants to promote, assist and educate local artists.
Art and Soul will also host art classes, which will feature no more than eight students per class, Mrs. Frank said.
Art and Soul Gallery is located at 12 Stone St. in Cocoa Village.
