The Florida Oceanographic Society hosted their inaugural Sand Sculpture Contest at the Stuart Beach on Saturday, Aug. 31. Following judging and viewing the beach area was leveled to not interfere with nesting turtles and hatchlings. Turtle nesting season runs through the end of October.
