Beach to Beach 5K: 7 p.m. at Jensen Beach Public Beach. Final race of the Parks and Recreation department's annual Summer Race Series. All races in the series are 5K in length. For each individual race, preregistration is $25 and $30 on the day of the race. Age divisions are 10 and under up through 70+. Dancin' in the Streets: Stuart Main Street and the Downtown Business Association present the 26th annual music festival in downtown Stuart along Osceola Street and Flagler Avenue, from noon to midnight. Five stages, 17 bands, outdoor disco, food trucks, carnival events for children, vendors, beer and wine. Advance tickets are $10, tickets on the day are $15. Children 12 and under are free, if accompanied by an adult. Leashed pets welcome. No coolers permitted; bags may be searched.

History of Florida East Coast Railway: Professor Seth H. Bramson, company historian for Florida East Coast Railway and author of "Speedway to Sunshine," will detail the history of Florida's oldest and most famous railway system, dating back to Dec. 31, 1885, in two presentations. Sand Sculpting Contest: Florida Oceanographic Society will host this contest at Stuart Beach on Aug. 31. Teams can sculpt from 9 a.m. to noon, followed by 45 minutes for judging and public viewing. After, the sand field will be leveled and all manmade obstacles must be removed to make sure nesting sea turtles and hatchlings aren't troubled, finishing up at 1 p.m. Registration is a $25 tax-deductible donation per team. Celebrating the 50th anniversary of 'I Have a Dream' speech: 2:30-5 p.m. in the Armstrong Wing at the Blake Library, 2351 S.E. Monterey Road, Stuart. Indian River State College Professors Matthew Brooks and Robert Farley will show Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s epic 12-minute "I Have a Dream" speech and discuss it from historical and literary points of view. The Mansion at Tuckahoe, located at IndianRiverSide Park, Jensen Beach, will host free tours on the first and third Wednesdays of the month. History is covered from the time of occupancy by Native Americans, the Leach family in residence and the 36 year period of two educational facilities. Docent guided tours are at 10 and 11 a.m. and it is requested visitors arrive on time in order to understand the complete history.

Karaoke nites hosted by the Karaoke Kops at The Lyric's Flagler Center on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month at 6 and 10 p.m. Come sing with the Karaoke Kops (Stripling Entertainment). Choose from many karaoke songs including top 40, oldies, classic rock, Broadway to country. Perform in front of a video projection screen so the audience can see and sing along.
