MARTIN COUNTY -- Martin County welcomed a new eatery, "Chillin on the Beach," to Jensen Beach Public Beach.
"Chillin on the Beach," which is already operating out of the former Sea Turtle Café, offers affordable food, snacks and refreshments to patrons.
"We are excited about being able to serve customers at Jensen Beach Public Beach," said restaurant general manager Jennifer Mosley. "As you take in the ocean and the wonderful beach, stop by, slow down and try some of our delicious menu options."
In an effort to spruce up the aging facility and address safety and health issues, the Martin County Parks and Recreation Department is gearing up to make much-needed repairs and improvements to the beach-front eatery. Wood decks, railings, stairs and tables will be repaired or replaced. Flower boxes will be repaired and re-planted with flowers and plants. Repairs are being made to public restrooms. At the same time, the new tenant is investing thousands of dollars upgrading the kitchen and equipment.
"These improvements, repairs and upgrades will enhance residents' and visitors' experience at Jensen Beach Public Beach," said Doug Smith, District 1 Commissioner.
The Martin County Parks & Recreation Department manages and maintains 73 venues in Martin County's Parks and Recreation Department system.
