MELBOURNE -- Good Natured River Tours is more than an average river-tour experience.

"When we talk about 'Good Natured,' it's more of a mindset and attitude," said Capt. Bill Reynolds, one of the owners of Good Natured River Tours in Melbourne. "(When we tour the river), we talk about the history and real estate of the area, then we get to the nature and seeing the dolphins and manatees. It gives people the opportunity to see something they wouldn't normally."

After years of experience in various businesses and the boating industry, Capt. Reynolds, and his wife, Kelley, came across the perfect boat to finally pursue their dream of operating a river tour for the public.

Their son, Billy Jr., said the tour business the family now runs is something much larger than they ever imagined, which his father agreed with.

"The boat just kind of fell in our laps overnight, and it was really a no-brainer (for us)," Capt. Reynolds said. "We're family oriented, and we definitely have a clique here."

Good Natured River Tours offers Indian River nature tours, sightseeing cruises, eco-tours and sunset cruises, departing daily from Grills Riverside in Melbourne.

Capt. Reynolds said each river tour is two hours long, and relaxing sunset cruises depart every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

Guests of the tours can experience a historical account for the area, a view of real estate and a look at some the area's aquatic life.

In the future, Capt. Reynolds said he hopes to expand to more boats and allow his son to carry on the business.

"I'm going to be working with the company, and try and support my parents," Billy Jr. said.

Good Natured River Tours is located at 6075 N. U.S. 1 in Melbourne.
