ST. LUCIE COUNTY -- If you are at least 18 years old, have a little free time and a lot of love to spare, you may just be the perfect puppy or dog foster person the Humane Society of St. Lucie County is seeking.
The HSSLC relies on the dedication of foster volunteers to aid in the socialization and recovery of animals that may not be ready for adoption due to age, medical or behavioral reasons or during times when the shelter is nearing its capacity for space.
Foster volunteers temporarily care for dogs in their homes until the animals are ready to be adopted. In the interim, the shelter supplies all food, any necessary medications and examinations.
