MELBOURNE -- Traci Turgliati knows something about La-Z-Boy that most people may not.

"Everything in my house is La-Z-Boy," she said. "I had several friends come in after I had renovated my home, and some of the furniture still had the La-Z-Boy tags on it. They were like, 'This is La-Z-Boy?' You really can furnish a whole house."

In 1974, Ms. Turgliati said her parents partnered with La-Z-Boy and have since sold its furniture at different locations through the years.

For 15 years, La-Z-Boy Furniture Gallery has been located in Melbourne at 3451 W. New Haven Ave., selling the famous recliner. The store has a North Brevard location in Cocoa, as well. However, eight years ago, the store began to branch out of recliners and into a whole-house experience.

Now, La-Z-Boy Furniture Gallery offers everything a customer needs to furnish their home either in the store or online.

"The only things you don't see in the store are anything bed and dining, but, if it is in stock online, we can order it for someone within 14 days," she said. "A lot of people don't realize that you can furnish an entire home with La-Z-Boy products. When they hear the name, they usually think of dad's favorite chair."

Ms. Turgliati said her employees are also very understanding of a customer's needs.

"They are all very well trained," she said. "They know all of the pros and cons; they are trained to not put a 5-foot-1-inch woman in a 6-foot-4-inch men's chair. They are not looking for a quick sale, which is something you will sometimes find in other furniture stores."

Ms. Tugliati said her family's success with La-Z-Boy is due to both the quality of the merchandise and the customers they help every day.

"We are local, and people like to shop local," she said. "We care about the quality of service. We have sold the name 'La-Z-Boy' for years, and we are not going to step out-of-the-box when we have something that is good."

La-Z-Boy Furniture Gallery has two locations:

3451 W. New Haven Ave., Melbourne. Hours are from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Call (321) 725-5461.
