Summer feeding program has openings for children
There's room for more children in Treasure Coast Food Bank's summer feeding program that provides free lunches for school-age children at locations in Fort Pierce.
The program is designed to help feed lunches to children 18 years and under in areas where many obtain lunches during the school year at free and reduced cost.
The summer feeding program provides nutritionally balanced meals to any children 18 and under at no charge. No pre-registration is required, and children don't have to be participants in the agencies' other programs to eat lunch.
The locations are:
Your Plate, 1203 Orange Avenue, Fort Pierce, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Community Outreach for Youth, 2017 Avenue D, Fort Pierce, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The program will run each weekday through Aug. 9. Treasure Coast Food Bank expects to distribute more than 6,000 meals to area children.
