Airport noise advisory committee vacancy

There is a vacant position for a Martin County resident from within the 60 and/or 65dnl. There are no ending term dates for the committee members.

The committee was created pursuant to the recommendation of the Part 150 Noise Study Planning Advisory Team. The committee shall have the duty and responsibility to make recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners concerning the implementation of the operational and land use mitigation measures adopted in the Federal Aviation Regulation Part 150 Study.

Meetings are typically held quarterly on the fourth Thursday of the month at 10 a.m. at the Airport Maintenance Building Conference Room, 1895 Flying Fortress Way, Stuart. The next few meetings are scheduled for: July 18 and Oct. 24.

Ministry seeks items for needy

The Love and Hope in Action Ministries in Port Salerno is in need of the following items:

10-inch foam plates

Plastic forks

Toilet paper

Mosquito repellant

Seven-ounce plastic drinking cups.

LAHIA provides an opportunity for a productive life to the homeless and needy through helping them meet their spiritual and basic physical and nutritional needs.

Contributions and volunteer requests should be brought to LAHIA at 1760 Salerno Road, Stuart, just West of the Martin Memorial Hospital.
