Cancer education series taking place July 18
Jeffrey M. Greeson, Ph.D., assistant professor in Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Duke University School of Medicine, will give tips to maintain optimal health after a cancer diagnosis at the upcoming Indian River Medical Center Community Cancer Education Series talk July 18 from 4-5:30 p.m.
The lecture, titled Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction, features Dr. Greeson, whose clinical interests have centered on the effects of stress on health, including how mindfulness meditation can relieve stress-related symptoms and improve quality of life.
Dr. Greeson received his Master of Science degree in biomedical chemistry from Thomas Jefferson University in Pennsylvania. He completed his Doctor of Philosophy degree at the University of Miami, followed by his medical psychology internship at Duke University Medical Center and health psychology fellowship at Duke Integrative Medicine.

Yard sale, market to become monthly event
The Kashi Sunday Market and Yard sale will be held on the second Sunday of every month. This will be primarily a fundraiser to raise money to update and expand the Ashram, especially the Visitor Center and Kitchens.
The new monthly Markets will include tours of our grounds, children's tours of the goats and chickens that are being raised, as well as free mini yoga classes. There will also be many booths featuring local artists, crafts and food vendors.
The event will be held from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Kashi Ashram, 11155 Roseland Road, Sebastian.
