Have some respect for your leaders

I wish those writers would have more respect for their president, who is working day and night to provide security and stability for us.

After all, it wasn't him who put us through this mess; and it is hard to fix the mess in two short terms.

At least he hasn't promised something that he has not kept, unlike previous leaders, whose interests were just personal and empty promises and embarrassments in the office - and say something to cover their dark side and come back and apologize to the people they promised to serve.

So, have some respect for your leader. He is not an enemy, as a previous writer marked him with.

All Americans have come to this land from all over the globe and call this land their home. He is not an exception.

Remember, united we stand, divided we fall. God bless.

Fact-check the dumb emails before you forward them

I get a lot of emails mindlessly forwarded to me by people who, I think, just assume the information is true and pass them on.

The other day I got one saying the 2013 immigration bill provides young people with free cars to transport them to their jobs.

Well, after laughing and not assuming that was true, I ran it through Snopes.com, one of many different reliable fact-check sites.

Of course, this turns out to be a bunch of hogwash, as so many others I've been receiving lately.

So, people please, do yourself a favor and the people you are bothering with all these nonsense emails.

Check them out before you forward them.

For all the citizens who have issues with the president

Are you writing your Congressmen? Are you meeting to discuss the issues with which you find fault? Are you attempting to organize in some way to vent your frustrations in some positive manner that will benefit everyone?

Or are you simply using this forum to rant and vent your outrage, without the necessity of becoming personally involved on a larger platform?

In other words, if you haven't got anything to offer other than whining, you'd be better served to shut up and wait for the president's term to be over and get on with electing the next official with whom you will no doubt be displeased at some point.

From reading this week's Rants & Raves

Thanks for this week's reading entertainment, Hometown News.

Let's see, several letters had to be from people wearing tin foil hats ranting about America being under political siege, and the other believing America is on its deathbed.

What voices of doom and gloom!

Actually, America is on the road to recovery; my investments and 40lKs are doing terrific under (President Barack) Obama.

Another rant concern was that we are losing our rights, because next year we have "Obamacare" to look forward to. Huh?

Why is it always the people who already have medical coverage complain the most about a beneficial program to cover people who have no medical benefits?

If this person is truly concerned about losing rights, may I suggest he look into voting rights, women's rights, human rights, constitutional rights, civil rights and religious rights.

Yet another rant mentions three major scandals, manufactured I am sure and proven to be wrong, going nowhere fast. Just as many conspiracy theories have gone up in smoke. People will throw anything out there, hoping if it gets repeated, enough maybe it will stick.

Lastly, the rant about inflation: May I suggest you start with greedy Walmart, the richest employer in America, that can most certainly afford to bring prices down and pay their employees more and their CEO, and their executives less - all the while still receiving their share of corporate welfare.

These rants are made for some good humor and interesting reading, none of which I would take serious.

Thanks, Hometown News.

Sodom and Gomorrah

Homosexuality, both males and females, requires deviant sex; which, by definition, is sodomy.

This country, having been founded on Judeo-Christian principals, leaves those supporting the Sodomists subject to the wrath visited upon Sodom and Gomorrah.

Perhaps those pillars of society on the (U.S.) Supreme Court will be turned to pillars of salt?

I am not a homophobe, I am a Sodom and Gomorrah-phobe.

Palm Bay water problem

After years of bragging about Palm Bay's water being the best in the state, suddenly there's a problem.

If our previous utilities director, Dick Jacobs, who retired was in charge, something like this would never have happened. What a shame.

Whoever the current director is must get it together before we all get sick.

A Christian nation?

God, the creator of all people and good things, including our world and universe, states, without any doubt, the following: "homosexuality is an abomination!"

In spite of (President Barack) Obama's declaration to the contrary, homosexuality is still an "abomination" today and "forbidden " by our god!

As difficult as it is for liberal democrats to understand, God reigns supreme, not (President) Obama.

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed into law, the law passed by both houses of Russia's Parliament, thus protecting all Russians from the distribution of "homosexuality material" and the practice of this abomination in Russia!

President Putin said "in signing this bill into law, this is an effort to promote traditional Russian values over western liberalism."

Hmmm! Again, since (President) Obama took office, America appears to be non-Christian! What say you?

Russia or (President) Obama's America, which is the Christian nation?
