MELBOURNE -- A Melbourne-based company was named a finalist for the "Florida Companies to Watch Award" this month.

Anuva, a local manufacturing company, announced on July 2 that its "Design and Distribution" electronics manufacturing enterprise had been listed under the "Florida's Second-Stage Growth Company Rockstars" for the annual award ceremony.

"It's a privilege and an honor for Anuva to be selected as one of the Florida Companies to Watch finalists," said Vinu Patel, Founder and CEO. "There are many deserving companies, and we are excited to be mentioned alongside these great organizations. Being a finalist is a reflection of the hard work and dedication of our entire team."

The annual award ceremony is presented by the Florida Economic Gardening Institute at the University of Central Florida, in association with the Edward Lowe Foundation. The winners will be announced in early August.

Officials said the criteria used to evaluate each finalist is based on innovation, company culture, community impact and marketing.

Mr. Patel said the company started in 2008, with the launch of Anuva Services in Morrisville, NC.

"Despite launching during a challenging economic environment, Anuva experienced tremendous start-up growth and tripled the space of the facility," he said.

In 2011, Mr. Patel launched Anuva Manufacturing Services and relocated the headquarters to a new facility in Melbourne.

"Winning the Florida Companies to Watch Award will be amazing," he said. "It will be a big milestone for Anuva and will be great recognition for our talented team. The award recognition will mean that Anuva has the right growth strategy and team in place to achieve the goals we put into place.

"We are looking forward to hearing the results in August, and we wish all of the great Florida companies on the finalist list the best of luck."

Anuva Manufacturing Services is located at 7703 Technology Drive in West Melbourne.
