Enjoy the Fourth

Star Spangled Spectacular concert: The Stuart Community Concert Band will perform in Flagler Park from 4-6 p.m. The band will play a full line-up of holiday classics including America the Beautiful, Armed Forces Salute and Stars and Stripes Forever. The concert is free, so bring your chairs and blankets, and enjoy an evening of music and fireworks in the Park.

Free movies offered

The Children's Services Councils will partner with Regal Treasure Coast Cinemas for their annual Summer Movie Express at the Treasure Coast Square Mall. Every Tuesday and Wednesday at 10 a.m. children and adults can come out and watch a family friendly movie for $1.

In addition to the offerings at Regal Cinemas, Children's Services Council of St. Lucie County will be supporting the Summer Kids Series at Nova Cinemas in Fort Pierce. Nova movies are free on Tuesdays, and groups can attend on Wednesdays with a $1 reservation. For more information contact the theatre at (772) 489-8889.

There will also be specials on movie meals for those who attend. Theaters fill up fast, so families are encouraged to show up early and grab their seats.

Prepare for disaster

In an effort to help businesses plan for disaster recovery, Martin County Fire Rescue/Emergency Management Agency, the Business Development Board of Martin County and the Martin County Council of Chambers will host a Disaster Preparedness Workshop for Businesses on Tuesday July 30, from 8:30 a.m. - noon at the Martin County Public Safety Complex Fire Rescue Administration/Emergency Operations Center at 800 S.E. Monterey Road, Stuart.

Kids triathlon

The Martin County Parks and Recreation Department will host the annual Sailfish Splash Kid's Triathlon at Sailfish Splash Waterpark on Sunday, Aug. 4 at 7 a.m. Participants must pre-register before July 29. There will be no registration on race day. Participants must have USA Triathlon membership or purchase a one-day USAT membership on race day for $10.

The cost to register is $35. Registration includes Waterpark admission for the day for the participant and 30 percent off Waterpark admission for triathlon families for the day.
