TREASURE COAST -- Treasure Coast Hospice has achieved the Level 2 designation in the We Honor Veterans partnership.

"We Honor Veterans" is a program of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization in collaboration with the Department of Veterans Affairs. Treasure Coast Hospice first attained Level 1 in April, 2011, recognizing that veterans and their families have special needs that other patients don't often face.

"As an organization, Treasure Coast Hospice is focused on building partnerships in the community, says Lori Posdal, director of community relations. "Adding this level of partnership with We Honor Veterans shows we are moving in the right direction."

The Level 2 designation reflects Treasure Coast Hospice's commitment to ensuring veterans have access to quality end-of-life care, and will help Treasure Coast Hospice partner with other organizations in the community to improve care for veterans, enabling us to extend our reach within the community and tell more people about Treasure Coast Hospice services.

Treasure Coast Hospice is a nonprofit community organization of caring professionals and dedicated volunteers whose mission is to provide compassionate, comprehensive, high-quality care for patients and those who share their lives in St. Lucie, Martin and Okeechobee counties. Services, including respite care, counseling and bereavement services, are available to anyone regardless of their ability to pay.
