TREASURE COAST -- The summer months brings backyard barbecues, fireworks and lots of outdoor parties. One of the few downsides to living in Florida, however, is that it also brings a lot of bugs.

But a local pest-control company wants to help you keep the crawling party-crashers away.

Roberto Rivera, one of the managers of Tropical Pest Management, has spent a year on the Treasure Coast and recently expanded to include the residents of Stuart and Martin County.

"I got into the business to be able to help people and make their life more comfortable," Mr. Rivera said. "I really like the hometown feeling here."

Servicing the area from Broward County all the way up to Port St. Lucie, Mr. Rivera is proud to be a green-certified business, as well as termite certified, and a member of the national and state pest management associations.

"We are an integrated pest management," Mr. Rivera explained. "We try to minimize the exposure and pinpoint the issue. You want to keep the amount of pesticides to a minimum."

The most common insects the company deals with are ants and roaches, but they easily handle all the others, including termites. They also handle all sorts of wildlife removal from homes, from moles to possums to raccoons.

Since no one can predict when insects will try to ruin a person's day, Tropical Pest Management also handles all emergencies promptly.

All treatments are guaranteed, and if the pests return, so will Tropical Pest Management.

"We do the best job possible with the best products and people available," Mr. Rivera said. "That way, people get the most for their money."

Tropical Pest Management is located at 652 N.W. Buck Hendry Way in Stuart. They are available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. For more information, call (772) 692-9300 or go online to their website at www.tropicalpest.com.
