EAU GALLIE -- Artists and art enthusiasts alike are celebrating, as a local gallery celebrates nine years of business in July.
Art and Antique Studio and Gallery, which is located in the Eau Gallie Arts District, first opened its doors to the public in July 2004. The gallery is well known for the many classes it offers, as well as the artists it features, who hail from the Space Coast and around the country.
Therese Ferguson and Debbie McElwain founded Art and Antique Studio and Gallery opened the business in hopes of having a working studio that welcomed artists to create and teach, and for the public to enjoy.
In conjunction with the celebration, Art and Antique Studio and Gallery will host its July exhibit, "Made in the Shade," with art by gallery members.
Gallery members were challenged by gallery president, Mrs. Ferguson, to create paintings based on their interpretation of "Made in the Shade."
"Original pieces done by members will be on display and for sale," said Lolly Walton of Art and Antique Studio and Gallery in a press release. "The exhibit will open on Friday, July 5 and will be open the entire month."
Mrs. Walton said that the gallery is looking forward to its month-long celebration.
"It's no easy task to keep the gallery new and fresh, but thanks to multi-talented members, who draw on their excellent decorating, marketing and business skills, the gallery continues to be one of the top galleries in Brevard and a 'must-visit' in the art district," Mrs. Walton added.
