'Solid Flow' - a solo exhibition by Michael Robinson

Fifth Avenue Art Gallery presents the glass creations of Michael Robinson, last year's 2012 100% Pure Florida Juried Show now through June 30.

In Mr. Robinson's hands, glass is not worked or manipulated, but transformed into designs that suspend time. Captured in this exquisitely unforgiving medium is a portal into the mind's eye of this talented artist. Entry may take us to a distant windswept shore - or result in the quiet contemplation of a single perfect bloom - or plunge us into the depths of that remote region known as inner space.

The gallery is located at 1470 Highland Ave., in the Eau Gallie Arts District of Melbourne, across the street from the Foosaner Art Museum.

The gallery telephone number is (321) 259-8261.

Visit the gallery at http://www.fifthavenueartgallery.com and on Facebook.

500-year anniversary art

Capturing the spirit of Florida is no easy task for artists. The interplay of light and shadow, subtle seasonal changes, cultural diversity and the sense of pride in being a Floridian (even if many of us are not Florida natives!) all take hold of our work.

"Forever, Florida" is a members show that will feature what the state has to offer on this, the 500-year anniversary.

Many new pieces will be exhibited in the Front Room Gallery for this celebration.

The exhibition opens July 2, but opening night is July 5, which coincides with First Friday in the Eau Gallie Arts District. The show continues for the month of July.

The Fifth Avenue Art Gallery is at 1470 Highland Ave., Melbourne.
