Readers are Leaders at school literacy event

AmeriCorps Reads, a program of Big Brothers Big Sisters, partnered with Weatherbee Elementary School for their annual Readers are Leaders Program. AmeriCorps is a program of Volunteer Florida and the Children's Service Council of St. Lucie County. In St. Lucie County 28 tutors provide tutoring to 298 kindergarten through third grade students in nine schools. Overall, AmeriCorps has 40 members in 14 schools in Indian River, St. Lucie and Okeechobee counties. For more information visit www.bbbsbigs.org and www.volunteerflorida.org
