PORT ST. LUCIE -- Mayor JoAnn Faiella and the Port St. Lucie City Council are proud to announce that Police Chief John Bolduc was named Chief of the Year by the Palm Beach Chapter of the American Society for Industrial Security.
The ASIS Palm Beach Chapter includes more than 200 security professionals from Palm Beach, Martin, St Lucie, Indian River and Glades counties. Their selection of Chief Bolduc was announced at the organization's annual Law Enforcement Appreciation Luncheon at the PGA National Resort and Spa in Palm Beach Gardens.
Some reasons cited by ASIS for Chief Bolduc's selection were his accountability, trust and leadership during a major transformation process that included the retirement of former Chief Brian Reuther and the restructuring of the police department.
Addressing nearly 500 people at the luncheon, Chief Bolduc said his success is a reflection of the dedication of all Port St. Lucie Police officers and the support of the City Council.
Mayor JoAnn M. Faiella attended the luncheon with Vice Mayor Linda Bartz and Councilwoman Shannon Martin.
"We are so proud of Chief Bolduc and the many outstanding people in our police department who worked together to drop our crime rate by 19 percent this past year," Mayor Faiella said. "His integrity is second to none, and he put the best people in the right positions while he leads by example. The ASIS organization made a wise choice, and we appreciate that they have taken notice of our extraordinary police department and our Chief."
