Fort Pierce Library hosts small business startup workshop June 11

The Fort Pierce Branch Library will host "An Excellent Business Plan" workshop presented by Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE) on Tuesday, June 11 from 5-7 p.m.

A member of SCORE will cover the benefits of a business plan and how to put one together; business description and marketing plans; financial schedules and what they consist of and more.

This event is free and open to the public.

College to host Job Fair

Indian River State College will hold a Job Fair for its students and graduates on Wednesday, June 12 at the Chastain Campus in Stuart from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Job Fair provides an opportunity to network with employees and interview for open positions. Attendees should dress professionally and bring copies of their resume.

Expense reports available

St. Lucie County reduced its debt and expenses by millions in fiscal year 2012, according to the latest annual report issued by the Clerk of the Circuit Court. The reports disclose that the county's total debt was reduced by $10 million and total expenses were reduced by $8.5 million last year.

The financial figures are published in Dollars & Sense: Your Practical Guide to County Finances. The award-winning booklet produced annually by the Clerk's office provides a snapshot of St. Lucie County's financial activity for the budget year, which ended on September 30, 2012.
