SOUTH HUTCHINSON ISLAND -- The St. Lucie County Aquarium, featuring the Smithsonian Marine Ecosystems Exhibit, has returned to its normal hours of operations and is now closed on Mondays.
The Aquarium was open on Mondays during the tourist season from January through March. Standard hours of operations for the Aquarium are Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sundays from noon to 4 p.m.
Located at 420 Seaway Drive, the St. Lucie County Aquarium is a 5,000-sqaure-foot public facility that operates in partnership between the Smithsonian Marine Station in Fort Pierce and St. Lucie County's Parks, Recreation and Facilities Department. The Aquarium's six exhibits and touch tank accurately reflect the habitats typically found in the Indian River Lagoon and surrounding coastal waters.
Admission into the St. Lucie County Aquarium is $4 for adults, $3 seniors and children ages 4-17. The first Tuesday of each month is free admission day. Group rates and memberships are available.
