ST. LUCIE COUNTY -- The radKIDS program will present children with a unique empowerment tool against attempted abduction, bullying, water safety, fire safety, stranger safety, bike safety and more, according to St. Lucie County Sheriff Ken J. Mascara.

In June, children ages 5-12 can participate in the program in St. Lucie County.

"The radKIDS program will help children deal with attempted abduction, bullying, water safety, fire safety, stranger safety, bike safety and more," Sheriff Mascara said.

Specially trained school resource deputies teach the course, and space is limited for the classes which will be taught at St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office headquarters, at 4700 W. Midway Road, Fort Pierce.

June 10-14, the class is open to children ages 5, 6 and 7. From June 24-28, the class is open to children ages 8 to 12. The cost is $20 for the first child and $10 for each additional sibling. All classes will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office, 4700 West Midway Road in Fort Pierce.

Space is limited, so Sheriff Mascara urges parents to sign up their children now.

Applications are available in the front lobby of the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office building on Midway Road or on the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office web site at www.stluciesheriff.com/rad_kids.php
