FORT PIERCE -- The Solar and Energy Loan Fund, St. Lucie Habitat for Humanity, and the St. Lucie County Community Services Department are co-hosting the "Sweet Home St. Lucie" event to increase energy awareness in the community and to provide more information about related grant opportunities, energy assessments, low-interest rate financing, and other services pertaining to home energy improvements particularly for low-to-moderate income homeowners.

The community is invited to attend the "Sweet Home St. Lucie" event on May 18 and enjoy free food, family entertainment, free money budgeting consultations, and to learn more about how they can take advantage of the services offered by SELF, St. Lucie Habitat for Humanity, the St. Lucie County Community Services Department, and event sponsors.

The Solar and Energy Loan Fund is a nonprofit organization who provides energy expertise and favorable financing to help local property owners identify and make cost-effective energy retrofits to their homes and businesses. SELF offers financing for two dozen energy-saving products, including: weatherization and insulation; high-efficiency air conditioners, windows and doors; solar water heaters; solar panels; and, more.

St. Lucie Habitat for Humanity, also a non-profit organization, provides accessibility to affordable housing to low- and very-low income families in St. Lucie County.

The St. Lucie County Community Services Department administers state and federal housing programs for assistance to purchase a home and to rehabilitate existing homes for low- to moderate-income families.

The event is seeking event sponsors who will receive marketing perks such as inclusion in flyers, press releases, Constant Contact email blasts, signs at the event, website, and social media platforms.

Vendors are needed and will be provided with a booth at the event to showcase their business/services, equipped with a tent, table, and chairs.

Food sponsors are also needed and will receive a significant presence at the event as well as marketing perks such as inclusion in flyers, press releases, website and social media platforms.

Grab Bag Sponsors will be given the opportunity to include marketing materials/giveaways in event Grab Bags to be given out to all event attendees.
